Graduation Diplomas For All

graduation cords

Graduation cords are tokens that consist of twisted cords that have tassels on either end. They are awarded for various academic and non-academic achievements and to members of honor societies or honors. Graduation cords come in pairs that have a knot in the middle that ensures that the cords are held together. Sometimes, stoles, medallions and sashes are awarded instead of the cords. The cords are usually worn during graduation at academic functions. With gowns, hoods and caps, graduates wear the cords as per the rules of the institution but the cords are not worn with the academic regalia after the year during which the honor was awarded.
Some graduation cords are available in single, pair, knotted at the back of the neck, with two cords hanging down on each side. The total length of such cords is sixty inches. The standard thickness of such cords is an inch. The cords are available in various colors. These include purple, old gold, copper, Nile green, maize, maroon and orange. Gold colored cords are normally for honor graduates. Other colors are designated for specific degrees. The cords cost different prices. A 5′ single gold honor cord costs as low as $0.55 each while a 5′ tied honor cord costs $0.85 each.
