Increasing Web Traffic – How To Save Yourself Time And Buy Web Traffic
What is web traffic?
Web traffic is a means of generating higher numbers of visitors to a web page. It is a service where by you pay to have potential customers sent to your website.
How does it work?
Visitors can be sent to your website in a number of ways:
1. Domain name redirection
The first method and perhaps the simplest is by using expired domain names. Every day there are thousands of domain names which expire as their owners have chosen not to renew them. Some of these domains were previously website addresses and may have been receiving visitors or may have links to them established on the internet. By acquiring these domain names and setting them to redirect their visitors to your website it is possible to channel web traffic.
2. Pop under windows
This method of traffic generation is being used less frequently now as many browsers block pop up windows. Web pages can be set up so that when they open a second window is opened in the background, underneath the main window. It will only be seen once the main window is closed. This is known as a pop-under window. By opening under the main window it does not interrupt the user and is less intrusive.
3. Full page advertisements
This method involves inserting your web page into an online process. For example, a website may offer a free service to users, e.g. free directory listing, free search engine submission, etc. The user enters their details in the form and clicks “submit”. As their information is sent they are redirected to your website. An alternative way of doing the same thing is for them to see your page on their way to the form with your website being referred to as a partner or sponsor site.
4. High exposure links
By adding links to your site to web pages which already receive high levels of traffic it is inevitable that some users will click your link. Well written links and appropriate pages can create good levels of web traffic.
5. Viral email marketing
This is not as underhand or unpleasant as it sounds and is even used by large global companies, notably car manaufacturers. An email is created inviting people to follow a link to a webpage, usually containing something like an amusing video clip. Advertisements rejected by TV networks are quite common. The page will play the clip and then divert to your website. Provided the clip generates enough interest it has the potential to be forwarded and viewed a huge number of times creating huge numbers of visitors to your website in the process.
Targeted web traffic
With all of these methods the quality of the traffic can be increased by sending the traffic from a site with a relevant theme. For example, if your site is for a financial product then your site popping up in a pop-under window is more likely to appeal to someone already interested in finance. This use of a common theme is one way of targeting web traffic.
Another method is by using domains or sites covering a particular geographical area. These are generally divided into UK only, Europe wide, US or worldwide though the source sites are all english speaking regardless of their geographical origin.

Each year the NTSB National Transportation Safety Board logs some 7,000 over the road truck accidents relating in humans becoming dead. As a general trend those fatalities have decreased over all, year over year. Yet overturned trucks are something that continues and it is a serious issue.
Those who design infrastructure such as over passes and highway on ramps and curves pay extreme attention to detail to such hazards. A proper blinking light and pre-curve warning system will save many lives over a ten-year span. We have all seen the pictures on the sign which show a truck tipping over and say caution underneath them with a number such as “SLOW 15 MPH” and often these signs also include a flashing amber or red light to alert drivers of the serious nature of the turn ahead.
I propose that we go one step further and include a satellite warning thru a GPS and Truck Transponder System, which will be a warning, which will signal an additional warning inside the truck itself. The system could be run via satellite or from a warning system on the curve itself, which alerts all trucks, which have a transponder system of the curve ahead. We could save over 2200 lives per year this way or about the number of people lost in the entire Iraq War. Think on concepts like this in 2006.

With brand-new technological developments for example digital Telly, Hi Def TV, Freesat & home cinema sound, if you’re present TV device is older than 5 years old, then today a great time to swap it. However, as equipment develops roughly almost day after day, buying a brand new TV device can easily be extraordinary complicated and mystifying.
This editorial seeks to help make clear all the most recent technological improvements that will help to take your television enjoyment to a fantastic new level.
Hi-Def Telly: Possibly the most significant innovation to the world of the television since the beginning of colour technology, Hi Definition (HD) telly presents detail, clarity and colour, with images characteristically 4xs as sharp as those from conventional telly machines. To watch the advantages of High-Definition TV you are required to possess a Hi Definition Ready television. Sky and Freesat have already started to broadcast high-definition programmes so you can now get an array of your much-loved TV programmes, films and sporting events with remarkable life-like pictures.
Incorporated Digital Tuner: A TV with an incorporated digital tuner (commonly known as idTV) permits you to receive all free to air digital television stations, such as: E4, BBC3, Sky News & numerous more without the need for another set top box. John Lewis offers a range of Cheap LCD TVs from leading brands such as Sony and Panasonic.
Freesat: A brand new digital satellite telly service available via joint venture between the BBC and ITV, supplying you free High Def Television programmes at no added cost. Freesat has no monthly contract, no payment subscription, just one solitary payment for the telly, satellite dish & installation. Plus because Freesat is transmitted via satellite, it is accessible to roughly almost every home in the UK. Freesat television is at present only obtainable through Panasonic televisions.
LCD or Plasma Tellies: Although LCD & Plasma TVs work in completely different ways, the advantages of both are very alike. Nevertheless, it’s imperative to remember that when selecting between a Plasma or LCD television, it is in truth simply a question of size. LCD is at its optimum performance up to and including 32 inches, while Plasma offers optimal performance at 37 inches and higher. With this in mind, if you are looking to buy a small flat panel television set, then LCD offers the superior performance, whereas in contrast if you are looking for a bigger screen size, Plasma is easily the greatest option.
In evaluation its key to consider when picking the correct TV for you, to think about your actual funds, your screening distance, the look you desire & if it is to be an LCD or Plasma television.

You have a small video camera, tucked away into your phone. For most people, that means you can do a lot of cute things like capturing your kid playing on the beach, or your friend making a complete fool of himself at the karaoke after having one too many beers.
But there are some pretty sick people out there, and a small video camera is just way too much power for them to have. For example, there are instances of men who, while riding on the elevator, positioning their phones to peek inside the skirts of women. This is a downright violation of privacy, and mall security guards do their best to catch them in the act. But it still happens.
Others use video phones to record their girl friends (or one night stands) in their naked glory, with the understanding that it was “just for kicks”. But sometimes these clips find their way to porn sites, or are circulated around the Internet in a grand scale version of locker-room boasting. There are some cases when possessive boyfriends would use these videos for blackmail, threatening to send them to the girl’s friends or co-workers if she doesn’t agree to certain things. In fact, the use of video phones to record people without their knowledge is the most common way that this feature is abused. Some schools have taken efforts to actually ban video phones.
Video phones can also be used as a way of industrial espionage. Most stores, for example, will not allow you to bring in a camera to record merchandising displays. Video phones lets you take all of that in while pretending to read a text message.
Police have also uncovered the modus operandi of thieves who use video phones to identify their victims. They record the faces of people who have made large bank withdrawals. They stay in the bank, or at the atm, noting down whoever has left with a sizable amount of money. They then send this video to an accomplice waiting nearby, who will then assault the person.
In some cases, video phones are not consciously abused, but are nevertheless used in a way that infringes on certain laws. For example, fans may use their phones to capture a scene from a concert, then post it on a website. This footage is then circulated among other fans, unknowingly breaking copyright laws. While these people certainly didn’t intend to hurt their favorite musician or band, and made no money from the distribution if this material, it is nevertheless an unacceptable breach of protocol.
However, on a high note, there are also times when video phones have saved the day. In one celebrated case, a citizen was able to capture a bribe between an election official and a candidate on his mobile phone. Another bystander used a video phone to tape the face of a criminal exciting from a house robbery. As with all forms of technology, whether the video phone is productive or destructive clearly depends on the person using it.

Current elaborate GPS readings acquired on the 15-16th Oct have registered that Mount Blanc measures 4810.5 m. Mount-Blanc is layered by a heavy ice-cap which has grown by 2.15 m in barely 2 yrs however more unexpectedly the mass of the snow and ice has all but doubled . At least that is as reported by the scientists.
The mass of ice was figured for the first time during 2002. It measured 14600 metres cubed higher up than 4760 meters. It was only 13500 metres cubed in 2003 perchance owing to the high temperatures with plus temperature as high as 4950 meters height. Nevertheless the ice cap has just about increased twofold since then and today numbers 24000 cubic meters.
Chamonix Mont Blanc’s reputable near by weather forecaster Frederick Carter said the development in the bulk of the ice is one of the perverse results of global warming: Snow hasn’t increased overall in the French Alps simply with the climate change we’re having added hotter prevailing westerly winds that bestow rain lower down but during summertime this means compact snowfall that rests at higher altitude than 4000 metres elevation therefore the volume of the ice is increasing. Contrast that to the situation in winter when the snow crystals are exceedingly cold and are transported by wind and so don’t settle on the summit.
Chamonix Mont Blanc is not just infamous for Mount Blanc it is also a well renowned snowboarding area and climbing center with lot’s of ski deals and lodging bargains to be had.
Comments are off for this postNeed More Traffic? Optimize Your Website! (Part IV)
There is one last step needed to move your website into high gear. This step is both easy and hard to implement. How is that for ambiguity? This technique is called linking.
In this case, linking is when one website connects via a hyperlink to another website.
Search engines such as Google use the number of links coming into your website to judge how important it may be to searchers. Links from websites that have a higher page rank than your website will benefit you the most.
When linking, you need to find links that compliment your content. On our Arabian horse website, we may get links from a website that sells saddles or veterinary services.
You could get a link from an online gambling service, but does that really develop your website’s theme and credibility?
Everything the customer sees should further your goal. It does not matter if your site is a sales site or a public service site.
You have spent a lot of time and effort establishing the quality of your website and the level of your expertise. It would be a shame to compromise it. Presenting a consistent professional message is essential to the success of your website.
The various search engines reason that if you have many inbound hyperlinks, then you must be a resource for other websites.
This will increase your ranking on the search engines.
If you post articles to the submission sites we talked about in part 3, you will start to get the benefit of inbound links as they are picked up and posted to other websites and ezines.
You will have to be patient though; it is not a rapid process.
The mechanics of implementing the processes we have talked about are beyond the scope of an article. Many good books are available to show you how to change the technical aspects of your website or you can hire a consultant to handle everything for you.
If you do hire someone, understand a pretty website does not necessarily make an effective website. Keep it simple, keep it effective and close the sale. Let the big corporations keep the showy flash presentations and watch your website become a profit center for you and your family.

Comments are off for this postCisco CCNA / CCNP Home Lab Tutorial: Starting Over
When you’re preparing for success on your CCNA or CCNP certification exams, sooner or later you’re going to want to start totally from scratch on your Cisco routers and switches. It’s easy enough to type “write erase” and “reload”, but there are a few details you have to watch if you want your home lab or rack rental devices to act as though they just came out of the box.
The first step is indeed to run the command write erase, and then reload the router. You’re going to be prompted with a question before the reload starts, though, and you have to give the right answer …. or your configuration will still be there when you reload!
First, you will be prompted to confirm the erase. Press to accept the default answer of “confirm”.
R1#write erase
Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all configuration files! Continue? [confirm]
[OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
With the startup configuration erased, it’s time to reload the router. This is where the second prompt comes in:
R1#reload
System configuration has been modified. Save? [yes/no]: no
When a Cisco router prompts you with two answers to a question, you’ve got to type the answer in (or at least the first letter of it). Answer NO to this question and press when prompted to confirm the reload.
The router will then start the reload process. Since there is no startup configuration in NVRAM, the router will prompt you to enter setup mode. You should only answer yes if you have a lot of time on your hands, just want to see what setup mode is like, or practice CTRL-C to get out it! Otherwise, answer NO.
— System Configuration Dialog —
Would you like to enter the initial configuration dialog? [yes/no]: n
Would you like to terminate autoinstall? [yes]:y
You’ll see quite a few messages after this relating to interface states, and finally you’re back at the user exec prompt.
Router>
Now you’re working with a router that’s just like it was when it came out of the box!
For switches such as the 2950, the process is much the same, but you should delete the VLAN.DAT file before reloading the router. This file contains VLAN information and is kept in flash, so it will still be present after a reload.
switch1#write erase
Erasing the nvram filesystem will remove all files! Continue? [confirm]
[OK]
Erase of nvram: complete
switch1#delete vlan.dat
Delete filename [vlan.dat]?
Delete flash:vlan.dat? [confirm]
switch1#reload
Make sure to hit for the two questions regarding the deletion – if you answer “y” instead, the switch thinks you’re trying to erase a file named “y”!
After the reload is complete, you’ll be prompted to enter setup mode. As you did with the router, enter “N” and begin to configure the router from user exec mode. There’s nothing like working with real equipment to prepare for your CCNA and CCNP success, and there’s no better practice than configuring routers and switches from the very beginning!

TCICommercial.com Gives Free Disk Space for Commercial Broke
This past week, TCICommercial.com has announced they are giving away online webserver space for Licensed Commercial Real Estate Brokers.
For Licensed Commercial Real Estate Brokers, marketing their properties to their target market has been an ongoing struggle. This past week TCICommercial.com (the commercial side of TheCreativeInvestor.com) has announced they are giving away 1MB of online storage space for photo and files for Commercial Real Estate Brokers.
Brokers can advertise an unlimited amount of properties into TCICommercial.com, they are only limited by disk space usage. This means even if they wanted to advertise 1000 properties, they can do so, but if they wanted to attach photos or files, they would need to purchase additional server space. Additional online server space starts at $4.99/m.
“Currently Commercial Brokers use their own websites to market their own properties, the problem is that they aren’t using the full power of the Internet. By incorporating TCI’s database power, brokers can really organize all the properties that they manage and display them more effectively.” says Joel Webb, CEO of TCICommercial.com.
In addition to free file storage, brokers can add in their entire office of co-workers and download HTML code to bring the offices property listing into their own website. This creates one central area for properties to be added, and multiple areas the properties can be displayed at.
“At many of our competitors, this HTML property code import is at least a $100/m service charge, by having TCI give this service away for free, Commercial Brokers are more willing to do business with us than our competitors” stated Webb.
Within 3 years, TheCreativeInvestor.com has become one of the largest online communities focused on real estate investing. The website networks brokers, property managers and investors together for one common goal, to do more real estate deals through creative strategies.

How to make basic Wedding favors
Favors are traditionally given to wedding guests as a sign of appreciation for their coming to the wedding. Many times they have driven or flown from other parts of the country to see the couple, so sending them home with a little something is a good idea.
Do it yourself
When you’re on a budget, or just have a crafty side, then you may want to create your own wedding favors. Even if you’re not domestically inspired, these are really very easy.
You will first need an idea. For this example, we will be describing how to make little sachets. The great part about these instructions is that you can adapt them to include any sort of filling (chocolates, candles, etc.) into the bag.
You can find great prices on craft items at your local craft store, but online is always a good resource too. Many times, you can buy in bulk when you’re online, so that saves you money in the end. Determine how many small bags that you need and what color you would like them to be. Something to realize: if you’re getting bags of a finer material, the picture on the Internet will look darker than it is in real life.
Also online or at your local health food store, you can go and buy herbs and flowers by the ounce. Realize too that one ounce is A LOT when the item is dried. This is why it’s best to go to a store in person for your ingredients–lavender, dried roses, and other flowers are best. This way you can see and smell off of the things that you have chosen. Find something fragrant.
If you have smaller bags, you won’t need as much, but the larger the bag, the more filling you need.
Easy as can be
All you really have to do is mix up your ingredients and put some into each bag. Many bags will even have drawstring closures so that you can tie them up to look very pretty.
If you’re inspired, you can include a small card about the significance of the herbs that you included–perhaps there’s an old wives’ tale about weddings that is related.
And like it was said before, you can always change the ingredients to be something that suits you. Enlist the help of the bridal party if you have a lot to make!

Comments are off for this postHow to Be Published With Little Effort
Fledgling writers trying to get their works published have heard this oft-repeated proverb: “You can’t get published without an agent and you can’t get an agent without being published.” Sadly, for the masses of eager writers who fail to reach the airy heights of John Grisham fame, the slush pile is a familiar haunt. But it doesn’t need to be. Writing.com offers a haven of free publicity for even the would-be author who has literally plastered his or her walls with rejection slips. From the college freshman jotting down poetry in the margins of homework, to the middle-aged freelancer, all walks of life are welcome to publish their voices for the online multitude to read, rate, and review. Sounds too good to be true, right? Wrong. Becoming a member of Writing.com in order to publish your works online can be done in a few simple steps.
Step one: Sign onto the Internet and direct your browser to www.writing.com. The main page will immediately open with a form for registration. But before you do that, you should decide how many of your works you want to publish. The good stewards of Writing.com (“The StoryMaster” and “The StoryMistress”) run the business of Writing.com out of their own pockets and have created a membership hierarchy based on financial sponsorship. For example, say that you wish to use Writing.com but do not wish to contribute financial assistance. This is no problem. The first level is the “Free Membership” which includes an online portfolio to store up to five separate items with a limit of around thirteen pages single-spaced, a storage place called “My Favorites” for keeping track of your favorite authors and other hangouts, a notepad where you can quickly type ideas and save them for later access, a free e-mail account, the ability to give and receive feedback from the community, the freedom to enter in various writing contests, and best of all, the ability to use gift points. Gift points, commonly called “GPS,” is an award system used by all members and also functions as Writing.com’s own economy. Gift points are earned every time a member logs onto their account within a twenty-four hour period. They can be used to buy Writing.com merchandise, to advertise your items, to show appreciation for another member, and to purchase a higher-level membership, Basic, Upgraded, or Premium. Therefore, if you as a free member earned enough gift points (through winning contests or another member’s generosity), you could buy a higher membership without spending any of your own money.
Step two: After registering for your membership level of choice, your new portfolio should be filled with your best works. Posting your best will attract attention and gain you a following of loyal readers. Publishing the online item is easy enough after simply following the step-by-step instructions provided. As large as Writing.com’s member base is (approaching 50,000), new members will not be lost in the shuffle. A special group of Moderators roam the portfolios of new members every day so that nearly every new member is almost guaranteed at least one read by a veteran member. But waiting for the reviews to come is a bad way to get attention directed to your new portfolio.
Step three: Armed with the item’s ID number, a handy way of linking to the portfolio’s contents, you can find hundreds of online message forums on Writing.com to advertise your portfolio. Veteran members of Writing.com (especially the yellow, blue, and purple portfolios) will help you find your feet on the website via these forums and e-mail. Although Writing.com is easy to navigate once familiar with the system of browsing it can be overwhelming at first to a new member. Most of these forums will allow advertisement of your works and some forums will even be designed specifically for reviewing a piece when asked. One of the first things you should do after becoming a member is immediately go searching for something to read on Writing.com. Once something that piques your interest is found, you should review the item and then do it again with someone else’s story. Most older members will reciprocate the review on their piece and will check out your portfolio as a courtesy.
It is that easy. Best of all, you as the author maintain all rights to works posted on Writing.com. Therefore, if a publisher happens to send an acceptance letter instead of a rejection, you still have legal power to say that the piece does not belong to anyone else but yourself. Writing.com is not a substitute for a publishing house but it can be a starting point, a testing ground, or even a “processing plant.” The more constructive criticism received, the better the piece will be and better prepared for “real” publishing. I know of at least two members that have launched their writing career from Writing.com but I am sure that there are more. On a personal note, registering for a Writing.com membership is worth it if only for the growth in my own writing that I’ve noticed. Without Writing.com, I would have had no place to share my stories and get helpful critiques that showed me what I was doing wrong, what I could do to improve, and then apply that knowledge from then on. I am a better writer today because of Writing.com.
